Each quarter the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors selects 4 Business Stars. The Stars are awarded to business leaders whose words and actions make Santa Barbara a better place to live and work. Each of the Stars serve as role models for the community. Dr. Kenneth S. Kosik has been selected as the Innovation Star. The award will be given at the State of the City breakfast, March 23 at 7:30 AM at the Doubletree. The three other winners are : Janet Garufis,President of Montecito Bank and Trust; Mario Borgatello, President of Marborg; and Angel Martinez President of Deckers. The Chamber expects over 600 people to attend this event including the full council and city manager. Previous winners of the innovation award include: Henry Yang, Dr. Jack Love, Virgil Elings, Eric Boehm, Walter Kohn and Jim Dehlsen.
