Welcome to CFIT

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping you maintain brain fitness. The specter of cognitive decline is one of the most frightening prospects for all of us as we age. The problem is too serious and too common to ignore. Although no pill exists that can wipe away cognitive decline, interventions that are well supported by research, can decrease our risk. Prevention is the key. The center for Cognitive Fitness and Innovative Therapies (CFIT) in Santa Barbara, California provides, at one location, all of the services known to decrease risk. We are the first full service community-based “cognitive shop” in the nation.

The risk factors for cognitive decline are now well-recognized. They fall into three categories:

At CFIT we evaluate all of these risks and offer a comprehensive intervention program. We face head on the challenge that simply knowing these factors is not enough. The hard part is doing something about them and intervening early enough to make a difference.

Aging With Dignity

At CFIT we believe that the dignity of elders is paramount. The CFIT staff provides the attention that makes each person feel special. They understand the fears and apprehensions that come with aging, especially losing the sharpness you've taken a lifetime to acquire, and losing the memories you hold dear. At CFIT, under one roof, you will find all of the services that you need for successful aging. Located in a living room setting, you will gain access to cutting edge research and technology in an information-rich environment. Whether you are middle aged or beyond, CFIT offers you and your family the peace of mind that you are doing everything possible to slow or delay cognitive decline.
